Christmas Shaped Molasses Cookies

As soon as I opened the molasses I was ready to throw this recipe right in the trash. Molasses is nasty nasty nasty smelling.


I decided to stick it out and they turned out pretty good. Much better than the molasses smelled originally. Paul is anxiously awaiting the delivery of these cookies. His mom use to make molasses cookies when he was growing up. I know they won't be "like his mama made them" but hopefully it's close.



Paul's mom must have had a better icing than this. You beat it while heating it for 10 minutes. Then take it off the heat and beat it 8 more minutes! My arms are falling off as I type this.
